ramadaan kareem!

From the billions of people out there in the world, Allah has chosen us to be a part of the nation of the holy prophet muhammad(peace be upon him)…

From the billions of people out there in the world, Allah has decided that we should be the ones to reach this blessed month of ramadaan…

From the billions of people out there in the world, Allah has chosen YOU to read this post and make this ramadaan a spiritually uplifting one…

Ramadaan has been given to us as a gift from Allah…it has been granted so that you and I may be forgiven for all the wrong we have committed in the previous 11 months of the year…

Islam teaches us how to live and act in every aspect of our life…whether it be going to the toilet or eating…

During the blessed month of ramadaan, muslims all over the world observe the compulsory fast which begins from early morning till sunset….

Ramadaan is more than just staying hungry and thirsty during the day..muslims are expected to reflect over their life..we are to make peace with those who have wronged us, strengthen ties with family and friends and do away with all our bad habits…ramadaan in other words is to clean up our lives, thoughts ad feelings…

There are numerous benefits to fasting in the month of ramadaan…
By remaining hungry and thirsty during the day, one is able to sympathise with those less fortunate and who don’t have that much themselves…
We realise that everything has been given as a blessing by Allah and therefore we become closer to Allah in this way by thanking Him for His great favours upon us…

Fasting is one of the 5 pillars of islam….if we don’t find fasting as part of our lives, unfortunately our building of islam will be lacking a very important pillar and will not be able to stand erect…therefore as important as it is to believe in Allah, His prophets and the last day and as important as it is to perform salaah, it is also of utmost importance to keep our fasts in the holy month of ramadaan…

Ramadaan itself is broken down into 3 parts…

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “This is a month, the first part of which brings Allah’s Mercy, the middle of which brings Allah’s forgiveness, and the last part of which brings emancipation from the hellfire.” [Bukhari]

First ten days (1-10) of the Blessed Month of Ramadan are the days of Mercy.

So we should seek Allah’s Mercy in these days.

  • Rab-bigh-fir war-ham wa Anta Khair-ur-Raahimeen. (Surah Al Muminun:118)

Meaning: My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!

  • Ya Rabb, Allahumma arhamni Ya Arham-mar-Rahimeen.

  • Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyumu Birahmatika asta-ghee-thu.

The second ten days (11-20) of Ramadan are the days of Forgiveness.

So we should seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent for sins in those days.

  • Allahum-magh-fir-li dhunoobi Ya Rabbal Alameen
  • Rabbana Fagh-fir-lana dhunoobana wa kaf-fir-‘anna sayyi-aatina wa ta-waf-fana ma-‘al abraar. (Surah Al-Imran:193)

Meaning: Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness along with Al-Abrâr (those who are obedient to Allâh and follow strictly His Orders).

The last ten days (21-30) of Ramadan are to seek Refuge in Allah from the Hellfire.

  • Allahumma Ajirna min-an-naar.

Meaning: O Allah, protect us from the fire

May Allah make this month a means of us attaining the mercy of Allah, may Allah forgive us for all our previous sins and may Allah save us from the fire of jahannam…..

May we see many more ramadaans and may we become closer to Allah with each passing ramadaan and may we stick to the good habits not only during ramadaan but throughout the year aswel….

Please remember myself and my family in your special duas as from tonight..

There are a few paras left to complete khatam 6…please do contribute to that and also to our durood and kalima tayyibah counts….

May Allah accept from all of us whatever little that we are able to do and may He grant us enough strength to perform all acts of ibaadah with ease inshallah…
