part 112

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon
“Surely to Allah do we belong and unto Him is our return”
The mayyit of goolam, the son of saabira and shabeer of rustenburg will leave their residence for the local qabrastaan…request for special duas..time for janazah salaah to be confirmed…”

We all sat in the lounge at salmas house…listening to the announcement over the radio..it was all so shocking…just 2 months ago we didn’t even know that this man existed…but now he had become such a part of our lives…we all were preparing and waiting anxiously for salma to finally tie the knot…and now..just in the blink of an eye…he was gone…

This was Allahs divine way of showing us that nothing in this world lasts forever..that we may plan and prepare for one thing and yet everything still lies in the hands of Allah…

Allah in a split second can change the condition of someone…and in another split second that same Allah can take everything away…

Just as Allah had created us from nothing by simply uttering “be”…Allah can make us perish also by a simple command..

We have no guarantee that we’re going to live till we’re old…we have no guarantee that we will get married oneday…we have no guarantee that we will see the day our child takes his first step…..we have no guarantee for anything besides death….

Death will come to us as Allah mentions in the quraan ‘even if we are in a lofty tower’….we can run and hide from all of creation..but we can never run and hide from the angel of death…

The question is..have we prepared enough for the ultimate meeting with our great Lord…?have we prepared to answer him for all the mistakes we’ve made in our life?have we prepared enough to be confident enough that we will most definitely enter jannah?

Goolams mutilated body had been found in the local dump site…he’s body was terribly butchered and nobody was allowed to even see his face…

The mayyit could not take place as yet as they had to take the body for a post mortem first and the body hadn’t been returned as yet…

We all decided that it would be best to drive down to rustenburg and offer our support to the family..

Imagine…the same week that was going to be the meeting with his new bride had been changed and was now a meeting with Allah…atleast goolam went with suitcases full of tawbah, regret, and good deeds aswel as taqwah that we still have a long way to attain..

It was almost as if though Allah waited for this slave of his to change his life completely and become a pious servant and then when he had attained it, Allah took him from this world…

How do we know if we’ll ever be as fortunate as him..I felt so terribly guilty inside for judging him in the beginning..Allah had made him a shaheed…a martyr…and the ranks of a martyr are so great in the eyes of Allah…

We continue to sin daily..we boast about the sins we’ve committed…openly..those sins Allah has hidden from others..we expose them to others…but little do we realise that Allah is not giving us the opportunity to reform..Allah is depriving us of guidance..and every person that witnesses and knows our sins will be a witness against us on the day of qiyaamah..

The demise of goolam had really touched many of us….myself especially…I just needed to change and become a better person…

Ismail too felt terrible even though he’d never met goolam personally but just knowing that salma was going to marry him and hearing his name in our house almost everyday had somehow formed a kind of connection with him…

Salma was….I don’t know how to put it…..not her usual self?not so bubbly…she felt hurt…and also wondered if something was up in her life….its taken her years to finally get settled with someone…..and just before it was meant to happen….its all taken away…

In a way she was very happy that she did things the proper way..that they were not dating and had no contact..it made it easier for her to move forward as she wasn’t in love with the guy already and now didn’t still have to deal with losing the love of her life…

But many lessons were learnt from goolam coming into our lives…may Allah grant him the highest stages of jannah….ameen!

Time went by and everyone picked up and moved on with their lives..I guess that’s what happens…we can’t sit around moping forever…

Yes death is a reality and everytime there is a mayyit, we need to take stock of ourselves and get closer to Allah…but our lives have to continue…..

Ismails been terribly hectic at the garage…things were out of control once the old manager had left the country…he turned a lot of things totally upside down…..you don’t even want to know half the things he was up to and poor dada didn’t even know……

Shukr he used his time to repent n turn to الله. This is truly a wake up call for all of us that life can be snatched away in a split second n there is no guarantee that we will see the next moment let alone tomorrow
Hope things are not so bad at the garage that Ismail can’t manage it
Tym for Aqeel to claim his bride ‘wink’

  3. Subhanallah, every post is part of a great inspiration and a boost in our Imaan.

It’s said our heart’s are in between the two fingers of Allah (not physical-its for our understanding), He can change it as He wishes. These reminders thru Ur posts are indeed reminders for those who take heed.

Jazakallah. May Allah continue to use you and accept you as a means of guidance for all.. Aameen

    Good advice for Salma ……
@>– When اللَّهُ Subhana Ta’ala tests Ʊ it is never to destroy Ʊ. When He removes something in Ʊr possession it is only in order to empty Ʊr hands for an even greater gift!.” -Ibn al-Qayyim

Hmmm … Greater gifts !! *wink*
We can only turn to اللَّهُ as HE alone knows wat we r going thru’ and can help us … دعاء is a weapon for the believer …….
